The 1983 Esprit Turbo was powered by a 2.2-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine equipped with a Garrett-AiResearch T3 turbocharger and twin Dell’Orto carburetors.
This setup produced approximately 210 horsepower at 6,250 RPM and 220 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 RPM. These enhancements enabled the Esprit Turbo to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.1 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 150 mph.
